Taking Steps to Help Families in Need

5K to benefit ACTS set for October 1 at Stonebridge

By Sponsored September 22, 2016
Taking the next step can feel frightening, overwhelming, and unsure. From providing a listening ear, to a place to turn when there’s no food on the table, to securing shelter when there is none, Action in Community Through Service (ACTS) helps families facing crisis one step at a time, every step of the way. And on Saturday, October 1, we would like you to walk with us – ACTS and Image Church are teaming up for the 6th Annual IWALK for ACTS at Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center (14900 Potomac Town Place, Woodbridge, VA).

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the 5K walk/run starts at 9 a.m. Registration is $20/individual, $15/team members (4+ per team), or $50/family. Race timing for runners offered by Amazing Race Timing. Proceeds benefit ACTS. To register for IWALK, visit
www.iwalkforacts.com.

"This year's IWALK is so much more than a fundraising event - it will be an amazing Friend-Raiser!  Not only will the high profile afforded by our hosts at Stonebridge spread the word about how ACTS impacts the community in so many ways, with the addition of individuals and teams raising funds through their own online fundraising pages for the walk and new 5k run, everyone coming becomes an ambassador for ACTS!" said Steve Liga, CEO/Executive Director at ACTS.

Following the walk, the community can enjoy a free family festival from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Attendees will enjoy food vendors, various performances, and kids activities such as face painting, moon bounces, carnival games, crafts and much more.

The mission of ACTS is to provide relief, foster hope and promote self-sufficiency for our Prince William area neighbors in crises. For more information about ACTS, visit www.actspwc.org.

“Image Church strives to be a light in the community. Part of our mission is to serve our neighbors,” said Chris Rhodenhizer, lead pastor at Image Church. “Funds raised at IWALK go to ACTS to help families in need – men, women, and children – who sometimes go hungry, who sometimes don’t have a place to live, who sometimes are facing trauma and crisis. Through this event, we’re able to help provide and meet these needs for families. Image Church would love to have you there on Saturday, October 1!”
